Disneyland Paris celebrates it’s twenty-first anniversary of the Walt Disney Studios Park today, and Disney CEO Bob Iger and Josh D’Amaro have joined the party.
Huge announcement expected…
As both Iger and D’Amora are both at the parks, rumours are starting to grow that a special announcement will be made in the next few days regarding future expansions of the park. These rumours are growing fast since Iger originally announced the investment and expansion of the park on his previous visit in 2018!
Natacha Rafalski Welcomes Iger and D’Amaro
Natacha Rafalski, Disneyland Paris President, welcomed both Iger and D’Amaro and shared the following…
“This morning, we had the pleasure of welcoming Bob Iger to see the progress of our ambitious transformation, including the ongoing expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park, which celebrates its 21st Anniversary today and the future of Disneyland Paris.”
Expansion Plans at Walt Disney Studios Park
Phase one of the studios expansion was completed last year with the opening of Avengers Campus on July 20, 2022. The redevelopment of the former Backlot area saw the retheming of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster® Starring Aerosmith to Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and the additional of the Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure attraction. Guests can also dine in multiple MARVEL themed restuarants such as PYM Kitchen, Stark Factory, Super Diner, Worldwide Eating Brigade (WEB) Food Truck, and the FAN-tastic Food Truck.
Phase two of Walt Disney Studio expansion will introduce the world of Frozen and allow guests to immerse themselves within Arendelle at Disneyland Paris. Guests will also see the introduction of a brand new lake which will be the home to brand new shows within the parks, along with a new promenade with a Rapunzel themed attraction.
Phase three was originally going to introduce the world of Star Wars, with the original concept art showing areas for Avengers, Frozen and Star Wars. Since then the Star Wars addition appears to have been cancelled, and the latest rumours stating the third land will bring the Pandora to Disneyland Paris.
