A Guide to Disneyland Paris Character Dining

At Disneyland Paris, there are four character dining locations Inventions, Cafe Mickey, Auberge de Cendrillon and Plaza Gardens. There’s also one special character dining experience which is only available to guests of the Disney Hotel Castle Club suites.

Please note, only two of these locations are currently open Auberge de Cendrillon and Plaza Gardens.

Characters: Micky Mouse, Minnie Mouse and friends

Plaza Gardens is one of the most popular character dining experiences at Disneyland Paris, and one of the few restaurants who allow walk ups (although we always recommend to book!). Enjoy a lavish buffet meal, traditional English or American Breakfast within the Victorian pavilion. This is one of the largest character dining restaurants at Disneyland Paris, however, as the buffet is repeated at both sides it easy to view and choose your food.

All the times we have been here, we have seen the same characters, however, that does not mean these are the only ways who visit here.

For Breakfast you will usually see a selection of characters from Goofy, Pluto, Captain Hook, Mr Smee, Tigger, Eeyore, Pinocchio and Geppetto. Please note, some characters can change, but it is very rare to see Mickey Mouse of Minnie Mouse at breakfast.

For Dinner you will usually meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and a selection of characters from Goofy, Pluto, Captain Hook, Mr Smee, Tigger, Eeyore, Pinocchio and Geppetto

The characters can change and Disneyland Paris don’t state which characters you will dine with. For example, one day on our recent trip we saw Daisy Duck at our breakfast sitting, and then saw Rabbit during a dinner.

Please note, the restaurant does not offer Character Dining during the lunch time period, if you book via the Disneyland Paris App, please make sure the restaurant is listed as Character Dining at Plaza Gardens or Plaza Garden Personnages.

Second on our list is the Auberge de Cendrillon. This is must do restaurant for any guests wishing to meet the Disney Princesses. Its very rare to find these characters around the Parks, so if you, your children, or anybody in your group want to meet the likes of Aurora, Snow White, Cinderella (as well as her mice guests Suzy and Perla), Ariel and more this is the place to be.

This is one of the most expensive character dining experiences at Disneyland Paris. However, you’ll be dining in one of the most unique settings within the Park, and you’ll have a dedicated table service rather than buffet.

We recently visited the restaurant again, and we met 6 princesses during the 2 hours we were at our table. The food is amazing, however, we would recommend you check the menu before booking as this may not be the best place for fussy eaters!

Breakfast with Princesses

Breakfast with the Disney Princess will return this Spring at Disneyland Paris. Breakfast often provides the best value for money and we will keep this guide up to date as soon as more details have been released.

Brought straight from Cinderella’s kitchen, you’ll be dining on magnificent selection of treats and fine French pastries, cereals, waffles, sausages, eggs and more. There’s both a kids’ and an adults’ menu, while children under 3 eat for free!

Inventions is one of our favourite character dining spots at Disneyland Paris, and has quickly gone from a one off experience to a must-do every trip! This unique restaurant is located on the second floor of the Disneyland Hotel and provides excellent views over the park and to Sleeping Beauty Castle.

This all you can eat buffet, allows you to enjoy recipes from all over the globe including french delicacies. However, there’s something for everybody, even chicken nuggets and chips for the kids, or adults alike.

This is the top of our list due to the great food as well as the vast number and wide range of Disney Characters we have met here. As well as the Sensational Six (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto) we’ve also seen Chip & Dale, Toy Story characters, and even heard of some princesses and Jack Sparrow visiting (although we have not seen them ourselves).

Cafe Mickey (permanently closed)

Cafe Mickey is the only character dining experience available in the Disney Village. Overlooking Lake Disney, this Italian style restaurant provides multiple dining options, including set menus or à la carte. Cafe Mickeys is a popular dining choice once the parks have closed as its open until late, many guests book a table after the illuminations to make sure they can spend as much time as possible in the Parks.

Character Dining at Cafe Mickey allows you to meet the Sensational Six; Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto. We’ve even seen some of these characters taking food to the table! What an experience to be served by Mickey Mouse himself!

Castle Club Lounge

Castle Club The Best Character Dining at Disneyland Paris

Located within the Disneyland Paris Hotel
Buffet : 07:30 – 10:30,
ONLY AVAILABLE FOR CASTLE CLUB GUESTS
Characters : Sensational Six, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy, Chip & Dale, and special Guests

This is the only character dining experience at Disneyland Paris which is not available to all Disney guests and is the reason it’s at the bottom of our list. However, that does not mean this isn’t a good character dining experience. To be honest, it’s probably the best we have ever had. This special character meal is only available to guests staying within the Castle Club.

As the restaurant only holds about 10-15 tables, you find yourself having your complete breakfast with the characters. The interactions in this area are like no other we’ve ever had, from playing fetch with Pluto, dancing with Pinocchio and playing hide and seek with Chip & Dale. You easily find the time flying by and easily forget about heading into the park on a morning.

    • Hi

If you have booked direct with Disneyland Paris at one of the partner hotels, you should be able to add this to your booking.

If you have booked direct with the partner hotel, it could be that the spaces have already been taken. However, we have found many spots do appear 3 days before, and some even a day before. On our last trip we even managed to book a character breakfast on the same day. So keep checking and make sure to check more often a few days before

  • Everyone loves what you guys are up too. This kind of clever work and coverage! Keep up the terrific works guys I’ve added you guys to my own blogroll.

  • Thanks for the tips! We are thinking of taking 3 and 7 yo for the first time. Do we have to have a meal deal (extra plus?) to have the charactor breakfast or dinner? Thinking to get half board. Thanks!

    • Hi,

No you don’t need to have the Extra Plus to book a Character Meal. You can use a meal voucher from any of the Disneyland Paris Meal Plans available, however, you will have to pay a supplement fee at the restaurant based on the meal voucher you use.

      Thank you

  • Do you have to be staying at a Disney hotel to book the dining with character experience as we are staying outside of Disneyland?

    • No you don’t have to stay in a Disney Hotel to book a character dining restaurant. However, please do make sure you book these early as they do book up quickly. You can usually book around 60 days in advance
