As part of the COVID social distancing measures, new and unique Character Selfie Spots were introduced to Disneyland Paris for the parks reopening in 2020. Due to popularity of these, they’re introducing even more selfie spots and magical moment photo opportunities for the parks reopening next week.
Please note, from August 23 until August 29 the Princess Celebration will take over some selfie spots. Take a look at our Disneyland Paris Princess Celebration Guide for more information.
What Are Disneyland Paris Selfie Spots?
Selfie Spots are opportunities for guests to meet characters, whilst socially distancing, inside Disneyland Paris and the Walt Disney Studios parks. Disneyland Paris have announced they’ll be fixed selfie spot locations, as well as impromptu spots which you’ll only find whilst walking around the parks. In some instances you may lucky enough to see multiple characters within the same location, such as Captain Jack Sparrow or Captain Hook and Mr. Smee by the Captain Jack restaurant.
Please be aware, as the name suggests these locations do not have a Disney Photographer and you’ll need to take a selfie with the characters yourself, or ask somebody else in your group to take the photo for you.
What is the Disneyland Paris Magic Moment Shot?
The Magic Moment photo is a special photo taken by Disney Photographers where a Disney character magically appears in your finished photo, this includes Stitch, Tinkerbell, Remy and even the porters from the Hollywood Tower of Terror.
As you’re unable to see these characters until you receive the finished photo, we would advise you listen closely to the photographer instructions.
Where were characters selfie spots when we went in July 2021?
We have placed character icons on the maps below so you can find them. Usually in each location there is a Character Time Poster to show what time they are available, however, in some cases they will show multiple character profiles and you will not know which character(s) will be there.

Please note, the times shown in this post are the times which were displayed on character selfie posters our visit. We would advise you check the Disneyland Paris app or the Photo Location Boards for up to date times. You can find a poster with the character face and availability in all selfie locations.
Main Street USA
There nothing better than entering Disneyland Paris and seeing Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale waving to your from the Main Street Station. As well as seeing these in a morning (as well as Mickey and Minnie on a night), you also have the chance to meet Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Winnie the Pooh, and Eeyore.
Toon Square Selfie Spot – 12:00 until 14:00
Liberty Arcade Selfie Spot – 9:30 until 14:00
Casey Corner Selfie Spot – 9:30 until 14:00
A Very Sweet Selfie Spot – 9:30 until 14:00
Fantasyland
Fantasyland has the largest collection of character selfie spots and characters available including Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Cheshire Cat, Chip & Dale, Pinocchio, Gepetto, Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, as well as Cinderella and Prince Charming!
Mad Hatter Tea Cups Selfie Spot – 10:45 until 13:00, 15:15 until 16:15
Mickey Mouse Selfie Spot – 10:00 until 17:00
Frontierland
We saw Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Chip & Dale (Tic & Tac), Clarice and Jack Skellington on our most recent trip. Minnie Mouse is hidden away at the side of the Cowboy Cookout restaurant, but this is a great place to sit and relax and the queues for these characters was always short!
There is also a Magical Moment shot with Meeko just as you enter Frontierland

Discoveryland
Discoveryland has converted some previous restaurants and attractions into character photo spots. Firstly the Nautilus walkthrough attraction is now a space to see either Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck or Daisy Duck. Secondly the Videopolis has been converted to another Star Wars selfie spot!
Surprise Nautilus Crew Selfie Spot – 11:05 until 16:35
Dark Side Selfie Spot – 10:00 until 16:20
Star Wars Legends Selfie Spot – 10:45 until 16:15
Adventureland
We saw Captain Hook, Mr Smee and the one and only Captain Jack Sparrow. These are more of surprise pop up character appearances and can be found stood above Captain Jacks restaurant at random times through the day, we found they were usually around about lunch time, and swapped over every 30 minutes, however, these are surprise appearances so always check after you have been on Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.
There is also a Magical Moment shot with Kaa.
Walt Disney Studios
You can see and meet many character in the Walt Disney Studios, and most of the time you will see/meet multiple characters as once as they are mostly inside the theatres. You have Mickey, Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother in Studio 3, Meet 4 Marvel characters in Studio 2, as well as Frozen Characters in the main theatre. You can also meet the Toy story cast of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and Boo Peep, who rotate through the day!
There is also a Magical Moment shot just by the Statue of Walt and Mickey Mouse, and a pop up mini show featuring Goofy and Max dancing or Buzz Lightyear contacting Space Control!

Can you book Selfie Spots or Magic Spots?
No, you can’t pre-book any photo opportunities within Disneyland Paris Parks. Previously, Disneyland Paris used the LineBerty app to allow you to book some photo experiences. However, when the parks reopen next week, this will not be implemented.
Hotel New York – Art of Marvel – Super Hero Station
The new and exclusive Super Hero Station selfie spot will open with the hotel on the 21st of June. However, this photo location is ONLY available to guests staying at Hotel New York – Art of Marvel. If you are staying at this hotel, you can pre-book your time-slot via the Disneyland Paris App.
