For over 9 months the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Paris has been under refurbishment. Today the Disneyland Paris Ambassador has given us a closer look at the current status and ongoing work in a new social video.

The video takes us into the middle of the ongoing refurbishment with imagineer Tracy Eck, and gives us an exclusive closer look at the gold leaf being applied to the snails on the castle turrets!

In addition to this, there’s even more Disney Castle news. Disney+ have released another episode to their series “Behind the Attraction” all about the Disney Castles.

  • Hello, your blog is always so helpful as we look for updates!

We have DLP booked for the end of November, but we would only go if parades & illuminations return as we have young children (5 & 3) and this really is their highlight. Otherwise we will postpone to next year. Have you heard any more rumours from your sources about a return for the xmas celebrations?

    Many thanks, Nik

    • Hi Nik

Thanks for your kind comments about our site and information. The only information released about the return of the illuminations and fireworks is that they are confirmed for the new years eve party, (read more on our post here).

We have been hearing that full parades may be returning in December and more cavalcades will be coming in October. However, this could easily change depending on the current COVID situation in France. Christmas will still be celebrated in Disneyland Paris (13th November 2021 to 9th January 2022) and the Parks will be decorated and our favourite Disney Characters will be dressed in their finest seasonal outfits.

We have just returned from Disneyland Paris and it’s still as magical as ever! Although you may not get to see parades right now, there are many mini parades (cavalcades) throughout the day in both parks. We have also seen more characters in the park with more selfie sports and magic shot locations!
