Last week we had our monthly trip to Disneyland Paris, but this trip was like no other, staying in not one but two Disney hotels. With so many Disneyland Paris offers being for stays at the Davy Crockett Ranch we booked a stay here (see our review here), and we also booked a stay at the 4-star Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.
Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is a deluxe hotel at Disneyland Paris, a metropolitan New York-style hotel which hosts the world’s largest collection of MARVEL artwork with over 350 stunning original works by 110 international artists.
Smooth Check-In and Bag Storage:
Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by the warm and friendly staff, eager to assist in making our stay memorable. From opening the car door to taking our suitcases from the car boot, you truly feel like you are checking into a 5 star hotel! Our bags were taken straight into storage, ready to be placed into our room later the day, allowing us to check in and head straight to the parks.
We completed the convenient online check in via the Disneyland Paris App (which is available up to 7 days before your visit) which meant out check in process at the hotel only took a few minutes, where we were shown details about hotel, restaurants, bar and facilities. The cast member also explained that our room would be ready for 3pm, and we would receive a text and/or email to provide us with our room number.
The MARVELous Rooms
We received the confirmation that our room was ready and headed back to the hotel. As the hotel is only a quick 5 minute walk from the entrance to the parks, this allowed us to view our room and be back in the parks before the parade.
Our room was on the 5th floor, and as we walked into the room it felt like a continuation of the hotel. The contemporary New York setting with a subtle Marvel touches.
The Marvel room theming isn’t overwhelming, with only subtle touches and the Marvel prints on the wall. With the clever use of technology, the TV is discreetly hidden within the mirror on the wall, allowing us to enjoy entertainment without compromising the room’s design.
We can’t forget to mention the beds. With two large queen beds in our room, these were the most comfortable beds we have slept in at any hotel in or near Disneyland Paris. After a long day in the park, you can sleep anywhere, but the comfort these offered was on another level.
Bathroom
The bathroom has a sleek design, similar to a contemporary spa wet room, with a large illumined mirror and duel headed shower. The spacious area appears much larger than other hotel bathrooms and utilises marvel-theme shower gel bottles for shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, to decrease their plastic usage.
Room Amenities
When taking cameras, phones, external battery packs into the park each day, one of the most important things we look for in a room are the number and type of charging ports. The room offers a number of charging types, including UK plugs and USB charging ports in the wall! We’d still recommend taking a French adapter though.
The room offers plenty of storage from drawers, shelves and hanging space. Inside the wardrobe was an ironing board and iron along with a safe for your precious belongings.
To make our stay more comfortable the room includes a coffer maker, kettle (with capsules) and a fridge stocked with water.
Breakfast
We’ve dined at the hotel restaurants many times and always say the hotel offers some of the best food options at Disneyland Paris.
With this in mind, the next morning we headed to breakfast, with both Downtown and Manhattan providing a breakfast dining location to hotel guests. From fresh fruit, yoghurts, pasties, continental meets, to fully cooked breakfast options you’ll find everything find a wide variety of options.
The hotel also caters for most allergies and dietary requirements, including Gluten Free products and vegan options.
The breakfast at the hotel is amazing and after looking in both locations we can confirm that restaurants offer the same options.
Empire State Club Breakfast
Although we didn’t stay in the Empire State Club, we had the chance to view the breakfast options. These rooms are roughly £50-100 per person per night extra and provide guests with VIP Empire State Club Rooms, their own private check-in, valet parking, breakfast, snacks and tea time in the private Empire State Club Lounge.
The breakfast inside the lounge had even more options from Cupcakes, Eggs Benedict to fresh honeycomb and fresh smoothies.
Super Hero Station
One of the highlights of our stay was being able to visit and explore the exclusive Marvel Hero Photo Stations located within the hotel. Only available to hotel guests, we booked our time-slot via the Disneyland Paris App (you can also book this at the concierge desk within the hotel) and went to explore the unique area.
Once inside we were greeted by Dr Strange and had a fantastic meet and greet. With Disney Photographers onsite, we were able to immerse ourselves into the interaction and allow them to take photos of us throughout the session.
After meeting Dr Strange, we were free to roam the multiple photo locations set up within the room. Each location has a plaque showing you how to take the perfect photo. The most popular photo stations were Peter Parkers room, the Collector’s dungeon and Mjolnir.
After exploring the rooms photo locations, we were surprised to see Loki had replaced Dr Strange at the rooms main photo station. We rejoined the queue and within a few moments had another amazing meet and greet.
What an amazing way to the start the day! All before the parks opening at 9:30 am, we had enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, met 2 Marvel characters and enjoyed our time in the rooms photo locations.
State of the Art Facilities
Along with the Super Hero Station, Hotel New York – Art of Marvel offers many other Super Hero facilities including a Super Hero training where guests can use the outdoor gym area or enjoy playing outdoor sports such as basketball. Indoors guests will find another gym, sauna and steam rooms and a large metropolitan swimming pool.
For little ones, the Marvel design studio provides a creative place for your little heroes to unleash their artistic skills and learn how to create their very own Marvel masterpiece.
Dining at Hotel New York – Art of Marvel
When it comes to dining at Disneyland Paris, Hotel New York -Art of Marvel is the home to some of our favourite restaurants.
Downtown
Downtown offers guests a fantastic buffet with with American, Italian, and Chinese options. This is our favourite (non-character) buffet options at Disneyland Paris. Not only is the food cooked fresh in front of you, the avengers themed desserts are some of the best sweet treats at Disneyland Paris!
We can highly recommend the Sliders, Chinese Pork and the steamed dumplings!
Manhattan
With rumours that Peter Parker and Mary Jane love to dine here on date night, the Manhattan restaurant offers guests a taste of Italy under the chandelier of Asgard.
Every time we visit we always get the same Burrata starter and the Limoncello Baba dessert. We’re slowly working our way through the main options, but we can recommend the Chicken Saltimbocca, Raviolo and the Sea Bass.
Skylounge
We have spent many evenings sat inside the lounge with friends discussing our day and sharing stories, whilst looking over the skyline of New York.
The screens behind the bar give the lounge a unique feel, and immerse you into the Marvel universe. With sound effects playing through the lounge, you’ll hear the Quinjet or Iron Man flyover to Avengers Tower, or see Spider-Man swing through the city.
The cocktails are brilliant, and strong, especially the Green Smash and the Mystic Yellow! The bar also offers speciality alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, and during our stay these were inspired by the parks 30th Anniversary!
Summary
Overall we would say that Hotel New York The Art of Marvel offers a fantastic experience to all guests. From the moment we arrived outside the hotel, the Cast Members went above and beyond to make our stay as magical and comfortable as possible.
Marvel fans will love the subtle theming and the amazing artwork and props around the hotel, whilst other will just enjoy the luxury experience and contemporary style.
The hotel provides the best beds we’ve slept in, exclusive Marvel encounters, amazing restaurants, and fantastic facilities the hotel is a must for any Marvel fan or Disneyland Paris guests wanting that little extra from their hotel.
