As part of Disneys celebration of Earth Month, it seems fitting that on Earth Day more photos and a video of the new Solar Canopy Plant coming to Disneyland Paris are shared. Construction began last year on Europes largest Solar Canopy as part of Disneyland Paris commitment to reduce their carbon footprint, emit zero greenhouse emissions and waste.
Collaborating with Urbasolar Group, Disneyland Paris is transforming the main guest parking lot to a Solar Canopy. Once completed it will not only provide shade and shelter for guests but also help reduce Disneyland Paris greenhouse gas emissions by approximatively 750 tons of CO2 per year. The 3 year plan, which is expected to be completed in 2023, will see phase one completed this summer with over 12,000 solar panels already installed, which covers 1,770 parking spaces!
