On a magical day back in 1923, Walt Disney waved his wand and brought forth the enchanting Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, setting the stage for a century of entertainment wonder.
Fast forward 100 years, France has played an important role in Disney History, first in Walt Disney’s personal life, through Disney films and iconic locations and artistic inspirations. In 1992, Disneyland Paris opened its doors, brining Disney these Disney stories to life, and today, it shines brighter than ever!
To commemorate Disney’s 100th birthday, guests were treated to a grand ceremony with 100 beloved characters, special outfits, and surprises galore. Mickey, Minnie, and friends kicked off the festivities at the Sleeping Beauty Castle, joined by 20 dancers, creating a magical spectacle.
But it wasn’t just about the glitz; it was a nod to the Disney VoluntEARS, the real-life fairy godmothers and godfathers making a difference.
The day unfolded with a 100th pre-parade led by our favorite characters, followed by Disney Stars on Parade, and chances to meet the characters in their 100th outfits in both parks. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy welcomed guests at the Walt Disney Studios, whilst Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Chip and Dale took to the Castle Stage for a selfie spot!
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the parks lit up with projections honoring 100 years of Disney tales. At The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Sleeping Beauty Castle, the night sky became a canvas for the extraordinary.
October 16, 2023, etched its place in the hearts of guests, embodying Walt’s timeless words: “The young and the young at heart, you help make this dream come true.”
